Gentille Barkhordarian

Gentille Barkhordarian is a mother of two elementary students at LAUSD. Her family fled an oppressive and dangerous regime and moved here when she was 11 years old.

Gentille has a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and an M.B.A. in Finance from USC. She began her professional career as an Electrical Engineer working for Xerox, then upon graduating with her M.B.A. she worked as a Management Consultant for Booz, Allen & Hamilton in Canada. Eventually she settled in California as an IBM Consultant, traveling nationwide and partnering with mid to large size companies to provide disaster recovery plans for their data.

Working as a consultant to corporate leaders has challenged Gentille to bring a variety of stakeholders together to provide solutions to complex problems. Oftentimes people enter these projects with very different motivations and needs, and she is able to help create solutions that address issues and unite stakeholders.

Through her path of living in several countries, Gentille has developed the skills to easily communicate across language barriers and cultures. She speaks English, Spanish, Farsi and French.
